Privacy Policy for Narau: Learn Japanese

1. Personal Information
Narau does not require you to create an account or provide personal information in order to use the app.
The app does not automatically collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier, or other personal information.
Narau does not use advertising networks, third-party analytics services, or tracking technologies.
2. Learning Progress and iCloud Backup
Narau stores information about your learning progress, including kanji and vocabulary learning progress, Hiragana and Katakana learning progress, completed lessons, review and spaced-repetition progress, learned and reinforced items, review dates and schedules, and study activity statistics.
Learning progress is stored locally on your device and is used to provide the app's learning and review features. If iCloud Backup is enabled, Narau also stores a copy of this learning progress in your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit service. You can also create a backup manually from Narau's Settings.
The iCloud backup is associated with your Apple iCloud account and is used only to back up and restore Narau learning progress. Narau does not operate its own server for learning-progress backups. Purchases and app preferences are not included in the Narau iCloud learning backup.
3. Handwriting and Kanji Draw Search
If you use the Kanji drawing/search feature, your drawing is processed on your device for the purpose of finding matching kanji.
Handwriting entered into the drawing area is not transmitted to the developer and is not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Review Notifications
Narau may request permission to send review reminders. These reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system.
Narau does not operate a push-notification server and does not transmit your learning history to the developer for the purpose of sending reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in Narau's settings or in iOS Settings.
5. In-App Purchases
Narau may offer non-consumable in-app purchases to unlock additional learning content.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Narau does not receive or store your credit card number, Apple Account password, or other payment credentials.
The app may check information provided by Apple to determine whether content has been purchased and should be unlocked. Apple's handling of purchase and account information is governed by Apple's own privacy policies.
6. Feedback and Bug Reports
Narau provides optional Send Feedback and Report a Bug features. If you choose to use either feature, the app opens an email composer addressed to the developer. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email.
A bug report may automatically include the Narau app version, app build number, iOS version, and general device model. The email will also contain any information that you voluntarily write in the message.
When you send an email, your email address and the contents of the message will be received by the developer. This information is used only to respond to feedback, provide support, investigate reported problems, and improve Narau. It is not sold or used for advertising or tracking.
Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the issue and maintain appropriate support records. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting the developer at the email address below.
7. External Websites
Narau may contain links to external websites, such as websites for data sources, open-source projects, fonts, licenses, or other acknowledgements.
Opening one of these links takes you outside Narau. The privacy practices of those websites are controlled by their respective operators and are not covered by this Privacy Policy.
8. Advertising and Tracking
Narau does not currently display third-party advertisements, track users across apps or websites, sell personal information, share personal information with data brokers, or use personal information for targeted advertising.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Learning data stored locally by Narau can be removed using the app's Reset All Learning Progress function. Deleting Narau from your device may also remove locally stored app data.
If iCloud Backup is enabled, a backup copy of learning progress may remain in your private iCloud database after local learning data is reset or the app is deleted. Apple provides controls for managing app data stored in iCloud through your Apple Account and iCloud settings.
For information voluntarily sent through feedback or bug-report emails, you may contact the developer and request deletion.
10. Security
Narau is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted off your device. Learning progress remains local unless iCloud Backup is enabled, in which case a backup copy is stored using Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud database. However, no method of electronic storage or communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Narau's features or data practices change. For example, if analytics, accounts, or other online services are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain how those features handle information.
The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when material changes are made.
